Real-World Pairing Examples

Example 1: Building Toward a Pied

Say you have a Pied male and a normal female proven het Pied. The calculator will confirm: 50% visual Pied, 50% het Pied. Every female from that clutch that proves out as a het Pied becomes a valuable future breeder. This is the simplest recessive pairing and one of the most common.

Example 2: Stacking Recessives

If you're working with a male that's Clown Het Pied and a female that's het Clown Het Pied, suddenly you're looking at a much more complex output — animals that could carry both recessives, one of each, or neither.
