1. Enclosure, Fully Set Up

A thermostat-controlled heat source is non-negotiable. Confirm your warm side and cool side are both holding appropriate, stable temperatures using a reliable thermometer, not just the thermostat's built-in display.
3. Hygrometer and Humidity Plan
You'll need a way to actually measure humidity, not just guess based on substrate appearance. Confirm your setup can hold 60 to 80 percent humidity before your snake arrives, and know your plan for misting or adjusting substrate if it drifts outside that range.
